Why Fresh Church?
When we first set out in 2002 we called ourselves Moorside Harvest Community Church. This name served us well enough for a few years because it described what we intended to be – a church for the community in Moorside.
However, after a number of years we felt that we wanted a name that was simpler but continued to reflect who we were and, perhaps more importantly, how we went about things.
We settled on the working name “Fresh Church” because we aspire to present the ageless truths of the Christian faith in fresh ways.
- We wanted to be a place where people could come to be refreshed.
- We wanted to challenge the idea that church is always boring!
- We wanted a name that would challenge us to always be culturally relevant in our worship and message.
